W/C 27th November 2017
The start the week we had a surprise visiter in year 3 who left some interesting clues around. The children loved looking at the clues to figure out who could have been. After a lot of discussion, Armstrong class decided that Fungus the Bogeyman had somehow got into our school. This then led the children to write their own newspaper article at the end of the week.
In Maths, we have been looking at the grid method for multiplication. We really focussed on making sure we set out the method correctly and making sure we are making the answer 10 times bigger when we are doing 20 x 3 for example. By the end of the week the children were really getting the hang of this method and some were even attempting to multiply a 3-digit number by a 1-digit number!
In RE we have been looking at Sikhism. This week we continued to look at Khalsa and the 5 K's and why Sikhs decide to join the Khalsa or not and what that means. The children have really engaged with this topic and discussing the importance of these things.
Armstrong class are loving the opportunity going swimming on Mondays and it is great to see the children's confidence growing with swimming.
