This week in English, we have been looking at the story 'Dave's Cave' and the children have loved this story. We used this story to help us develop our character and setting descriptions using adjectives. We then looked at how to punctuate speech correctly ready for when we retold the story of 'Dave's Cave'.
In maths, we have been looking at addition and using numberlines to help us add. We started off by adding 1-digit numbers to 3-digit numbers and progressed to adding 2-digit numbers to 3-digit numbers. We also used our reasoning skills to discuss and explain what we noticed and how this can help us answer other questions.
During our Topic lessons, we looked at the variety of homes that were in The Stone Age. We compared how the houses developed throughout The Stone Age and the children found it very interesting to hear how manure was used in house making!
For science we looked at how fossils are created in sedimentary rocks and how they are discovered. The children have absolutely loved investigating the fossils we have in school. If the children have any they would like to bring in from home, we would love to see them during show and tell!
In RE, we continued to look at the festival of Diwali and found out why it is important and how it is celebrated. The children produced some lovely poster cards for our display.
