This week in English, we have been looking at the story 'Dave's Cave' and the children absolutely loved this story. We used this story to help us develop our character and setting descriptions using adjectives. We then looked at how to punctuate speech correctly ready for when we retold the story of 'Dave's Cave'.
In maths, we have been looking at addition and using numberlines to help us add. We started off by adding 1-digit numbers to 3-digit numbers and progressed to adding 2-digit numbers to 3-digit numbers. We also used our reasoning skills to discuss and explain what we noticed and how this can help us answer other questions.
During our Topic lessons, we looked at the variety of homes that were in The Stone Age. We compared how the houses developed throughout The Stone Age and the children found it very interesting to hear how manure was used in house making!
For science we looked at how fossils are created in sedimentary rocks and how they are discovered. This will then lead on to an exciting lesson for the children next week!
In RE, we continued to look at the festival of Diwali and focused on the importance of Lakshmi the Goddess of Wealth within Diwali.
