W/C 13th November 2017
In English, we have been looking at the present perfect tense. The children found this tricky at the beginning of the week but by using it to help retell a section of a story, the children have really started to understand how it can be used in their writing.
In Maths, we have been looking at multiplication and division. We started the week by looking at the inverse and fact families. By the end of the week we were using this knowledge to solve scaling problems.
We also started our new topic in Science 'Forces and Magnets'. We started this week by looking at forces and created an experiment to see how a force changes by pushing a car on different materials. The children really enjoyed seeing if their predictions were correct or not.
The children had their first swimming lesson this week and they really enjoyed having this opportunity for a PE lesson. Please remember to send you child to school on Mondays with their swimming kit.
This week has been Anti-Bullying week. We looked at what bullying can be and what to do if you are being bullied or see someone not being very nice. Remember there is always somebody at school to talk to if you need to.
Our class assembly has got moved to next week. The children have been working very hard practicing their lines and we hope you can come and watch on Tuesday 21st November at 2:15pm.
