W/C 11th December 2017
This week in English, we looked at Mog’s Christmas Calamity to help us with writing stories. We looked at the structure of a story and used all the different skills we have learnt so far to retell the story of Mog. The children really loved the story of Mog and it was wonderful to see this through their writing.
In Maths, we continued looking at measure and solving measure word problems. We also looked at subtraction and began using expanded column to help us subtract.
For science, we continued to look at magnets. The children came up with an experiment to see if magnets were as strong in water as they are in the air. The children thoroughly enjoyed doing this experiment and recording and explaining their results.
This week was also show week for year 3 and 4. The children did brilliantly and it was wonderful to see the show come together and for all the children to shine. Thank you to everyone that helped with learning lines, costumes and for coming to support the children in the shows.
We also made and decorated salt dough decorations for the Christmas Fair. Thank you to everyone that helped support the school at the fair and bought our decorations.
