This week we have had a great first week back to school.
In English, we read parts of Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, created our own characters and rewrote the story in the style of Roald Dahl.
In Maths, we refreshed our four operations, working on our written methods for each one.
During our Topic lessons, we have learnt more about Isambard Kingdom Brunel, in particular we have looked in detail at the SS Great Britain. We have thought about how it would have felt to be a passenger on the ship, written letters to family members at home about our journey and drawn some beautiful sketches of the ship using sketching and shading. A few of these can be seen below.
Kai was Brunel Class' first Star of the Week. Staff across the school have noticed how incredibly grown up Kai has become over the holidays and he has come into school with a superb attitude towards his learning. Maths is Kai's strength, and he has really shown that this week by flourishing in all of the four operations and exceeding the daily expectations in our Maths lessons. Well done Kai, keep it up!
