Welcome to Armstrong Class Year 3
Welcome back after a lovely and restful Christmas break. I hope you all had a good Christmas and are now back ready to learn for our exciting new topics!
This term our topic is 'Extreme Survival'. We will be exploring a range of extreme places and environments and consider how animals and communities adapt to these environments.
We will have PE on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. You must make sure that you have all of your PE kit in school, including appropriate footwear. If Children do not have a PE kit they will be provided with a spare class kit.
I look forward to all the great ideas, creativity and learning we will all have this term!
Our topic for terms 1/2 is 'Meet the Flintstones'. We will be learning lots of interesting things about the Stone Age.
During terms 3/4 our topic is 'Extreme Survival'. We will be exploring a range of extreme places and environments and consider how animals and communities adapt to these environments.
Our final topic of the year will be 'Tomb Raiders'. We will discover what life was like in Ancient Egypt, follow the route of the River Nile and much much more!
These are the spelling lists based on the age related expectations for the Autumn term. We will be testing on these in the first two weeks of term, and then again at the end of the term. Anyone who scores 35 or over will be entered into a new and very exciting Spelling Bee Competition in front of the whole school!
Please practise these as much as possible at home alongside your weekly spellings that will be sent home with the children on Fridays.
Please see below our class homework sheets.
